Bio

Daniel Allegrucci is a North Carolina based artist using the traditional technique of woodcut printmaking to explore contemporary content. He was born in Fayetteville, NC to a military family. He grew up listening to his grandfather's accounts of the Battle of the Bulge in World War II, then later his father's tales of Operation Desert Storm. As a child, frequent moves and his family's military involvement led him to spend significant time in several regions of the US as well as Spain and Italy. After several years in upstate New York, he relocated to North Carolina where he received a BFA with a concentration in printmaking from UNC-Charlotte. His award winning work has been exhibited in China, Korea, Australia and throughout the United States. He is a former 11 Month Affiliate Artist at McColl Center for Visual Art in Charlotte.
